Update from Chairman – David Durbin I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this year and I hope you feel able to continue or renew your membership for next year. It was your support that enabled us to raise the £19k to help the Club through its financial difficulties. There is no change in the joining fee as it remains at £15 and as usual all members go into a monthly draw to win prizes of greater value than the joining fee. Your continued membership is a vital part of our fundraising for the Squadbuilder fund. You can do this by visiting our website Faxtrust.org or at any of our stalls/events during the coming year. On the subject of fundraising we recently held a raffle which was drawn live at the Whitehaven game. This is still available to watch on our Facebook page. However, it seems that not everyone has seen it and therefore here is the list of the winners: 1. Ticket number 0753 - Wayne Rafferty - 2 nights at Bowers Mill 2. Ticket 1600 - A Westwood - Match day Experience 3. Ticket. 1704 - P. Haggerty - Afternoon tea at Harvey’s 4. Ticket. 0627 - G Clayton - 1.5 litre Brandy 5. Ticket. 0115 - Taffy - 2 Mega breakfast at the Shay Cafe 6. Ticket. 1388 - R. Wood - Bottle Famous Grouse Whiskey 7. Ticket. 0185 - A Bennett - £20 voucher for Boothwood Inn 8. My apologies for this late notification and our assumption that everyone uses social media! Like me I’m sure we all wish Kyle Eastmond a successful season in his first coaching appointment and we as always will give him our full support. Finally, as this is our last newsletter for the year, I would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas, and a healthy and prosperous New Year.

July Newsletter

Update from Chairman – David Durbin Another win moves us up the table and out of the danger zone. If we can put together a full eighty minutes like our recent comeback performances we would certainly be nearer the top of the league than were we are currently. Still there is plenty of time for that and with more of our injured players getting closer to recovery anything is possible. So let us continue to give our full support to Liam and the team as a very vocal eighteenth man can make all the difference! A reminder now that your Trust AGM is on the 9th July at the Ivy House starting at 7pm and all members are very welcome. I would also like to thank everyone who has made very generous donations of preloved merchandise as this helps our fundraising efforts for the Squadbuilder. We do however still need more so please consider us when having that clear out that you promised yourself you would do. Talking of fundraising an important date for your diary is the 10th August for a dinner with Martin Pearson and friends at the Shay starting at 7pm. It’s £30 a ticket, two course dinner which will certainly be one not to miss. We hope to see you there!

June Newsletter

Update from Chairman – David Durbin One swallow does not make a summer but a win is a win! The Doncaster game shows what can be done after an excellent all round performance by the team and certainly something to build on. The Leeds lads who came in due to our appalling injury situation did us proud so let’s hope we can keep them for a while! The loss to Toulouse however shows how much more needs to be done despite a gallant second half performance. Defence Defence Defence !! After our donation of kit to the Panthers LDRL team I’m also pleased to announce that your Trust has sponsored two Panthers wheelchair team players for their season, these being Rob Hawkins and Tom Martin. If you have never been to see them play I would suggest you get to the Sedbergh Leisure Centre (BD12 0HQ) on Sunday 16th June at 2:30pm. You will be in for a treat! I would like now to put an appeal for any pre-loved merchandise that you wish to donate to us as we are extremely low on stock as we continue to raise for the Squadbuilder fund. We also are holding a raffle this season with some great prizes including these include two nights at the magnificent Bowers Mill Aparthotel in a luxury suite, a match day experience at the club, afternoon tea at Harvey’s, and many more wonderful prizes. Tickets are available at all our home games costing only £1 each or a book for £5. If you feel able to sell some for us that would be greatly appreciated

Panthers Wheelchair team update from player Tom Martin We're gearing up for our first match against the Leeds Rhinos on June 16th, 2024. Our athletes have been training hard in the pre-season, focusing on both skills and teamwork. Coach Wayne Boardman has been guiding the team through strategic plays and rigorous conditioning to prepare for this challenge. This match is a chance to test ourselves and develop our skills through valuable experience. The players have been pushing their limits, and we believe this hard work will pay off. We look forward putting our efforts to the test against the Rhinos.

Town Centre Market Stalls Our next fundraiser is a market stall in Halifax on Saturday 18 May (by old Wilko’s shop). Items to sell would be gratefully received

Message from Trust Chairman – David Durbin Not the result against Swinton or Featherstone that anyone wanted as clearly we are in a bit of a black hole at the moment. This is time when our true supporters (not the fickle fans) get behind the club as a whole and in particular Liam and the team. All teams go through this at some point and once that elusive win is had we will then be back where we want to be, which is the play offs. Your Trust is also asking for your support as we are very low on pre loved merchandise, so if you have had that clear out you have been putting off for a while, then we would welcome your items. You can bring them to any home game, call me on 07790 852196 to arrange collection, or bring to our next market stall in town on the 18th May outside the old Wilkinson’s. Some of our members and panthers supporters attended the Panthers Wheelchair team match in the Challenge cup at Wigan on Sat 27 April. Many thanks to Kay Mitton for organising a minibus. The result didn’t go our way on the day but our fans created a fantastic atmosphere at the game which was very much appreciated by the team.

Reminder If any of your contact details change, please remember to advise us so that we can update our records. Many thanks

Town Centre Market Stalls A big thank you to everyone who supported our stall at Halifax Indoor market on Sat 6 April.

Message from Trust Chairman – David Durbin Now that the Challenge Cup is over for us we can now concentrate on the league with a playoff place this year being surely the minimum we would hope to achieve. One win over Dewsbury and one loss to our local rivals the Bulls show there is much work to do. Clearly some of those lessons had been heeded as this showed in our gritty performance in the win over Batley. Very good game management in appalling conditions. Now onto Widnes! It’s also the time to spread the word and bring that long lost supporter back to the Shay. A very good crowd against the Catalans and Batley shows what can be achieved and is a must as the Club works to get on a sound financial footing. Joining the Trust is an excellent way to support the Squadbuilder fund and entering this seasons match day dining competition is another. These can be done online at Faxtrust.org or at any of our stalls on match days. Talking of stalls we are still in need of your preloved merchandise so please bring it down on match day at the Shay or give me a call ( 07790 852196) to arrange collection. Another indirect way of supporting the Club is by joining the Trust Board as we still have two vacancies. If you feel able to join us please get in touch with myself on 07790 852196,by speaking to us on match days or via our social media platforms. David (faxmad@aol.com)

LDRL Team The Trust are very pleased to be able to provide the Panthers LDRL team with training shirts. We wish them luck with their matches

If, nearer the time you have any good quality bric-a-brac, books, unwanted gifts etc, please do contact us.

Message from Trust Chairman – David Durbin At the time of writing this it doesn’t look as though we will be making another trip to Wembley to defend the 1985 Cup. Individual mistakes at the wrong times did not help our cause against a very spirited Oldham side. A much improved performance against Rochdale has shown what we can do which has given us a very, very slim chance of a Wembley return. As we know now our Challenge Cup draws gives the Club the first opportunity of home games and that much needed revenue streams. So please bring a friend and let’s get behind Liam and the team. With the right results we hope that we can get a Super League team at home to further boost the coffers. You can of course help by renewing memberships at these games or online at Faxtrust.org. As you know we will be supporting Squadbuilder again this season with all our fundraising. We are also looking for two new Board members, could it be YOU? If so, please get in touch. Several good news items coming out of the club this last few weeks such as the Foundation launch and member’s packages. With more to come it shows that we are moving in the right direction to improve our IMG score. The sponsorship of players via the Fans Forum is also something to shout about. A great effort! A great time to be supporting our Panthers!

I’m sure like us you cannot wait for the season to start, so as always, let’s get behind Liam and the team and support them in every way possible! October Newsletter

Message from Trust Chairman – David Durbin Well it’s all over now for another season, one of being consistently inconsistent. A disappointing end after the high of Wembley and winning the 1985 Cup. Now we move on and look forward to another season following our Panthers under the tutelage of Liam who arrives with our full support. A big thank you must now go to Simon for all his hard work over all his time with us and he goes with our best wishes for his future career. Our next fundraising event is a craft fair at the Shay on Sunday 29th October where you will be able to purchase that much needed Christmas present from a variety of stalls and of course you first opportunity to renew your Trust membership for 2024. This remains at £15 for the year and as your monthly members draw prize’s continue to be worth more than you membership, what’s not to like?! As we move into a new season with a new kit supplier if you have any shirts or other memorabilia you would to donate to your Trust please do not hesitate to contact me on 07790 852196 and I will arrange collection. All funds raised of course going to the Squadbuilder account which will be much used as we add to the squad for the forthcoming season.
